Plans

"Your natural preference is to plan out your day, knowing what will happen when. My preference is for you to depend on Me continually, trusting Me to guide you and strengthen you as needed."*

Today's Jesus Calling devotional seemed appropriate as so many of our plans were derailed this week by the storm called Isaac. As a natural born planner, it's hard for me to 'go with the flow.' I like having my schedules, and my lists, and my marching orders.

But, sometimes, we just have to hang on and wait for Him to get us back on track. We have to wait for His plan to kick in. Easy? No. Necessary? Yes. Because, in the end, His plan is the one that really matters.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

  1. A co-worker sent my your blog recently as I became an empty nester. Not only did I send my last child off to college, I had to put my beloved dog to sleep two days ago. I don't think I have cried this much in the last 5 years. My husband and I are truly back to the two of us.
I find your blog inspiring and glad to know I am not the only one feeling this way.
I am now awaiting God's plan for me with open arms.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, and for reading. Crying is not always a bad thing.. it's one way we can release our grief and come to grips with what awaits us beyond the difficult time we are in. God is good... and I I know He has good things in store for you! Please let me know about the next adventure He has for you. I know it will be wonderful.
